Bulk Barn
Size: Office over 90,000 square feet, Warehouse over 300,000 square feet
Scope: Programming, space planning, furniture selection, tender and procurement, design concept, finishes selection, custom millwork design, site reviews and relocation management.
Description: Infrastructure was retained by Bulk Barn Foods Limited to work with their team and the design build team. We developed the interior office component for the head office in Aurora, ON. Infrastructure designed the corporate office component which included the reception, meeting rooms, general office workstations and office areas, staff lounge and patio, mail room, theatre and washroom and change rooms as well as executive offices including a commercial kitchen. The overall building houses staff up to 250 not including warehouse shift staff.
While the new headquarters retains a very traditional feel, Bulk Barn wanted to provide additional amenities for their staff including a large gym with weights, a yoga/spin studio, change rooms, an outdoor basketball court and a smoke ‘shack’ as well as a large staff lounge with an outdoor patio. The new workstations are reduced in height to allow staff to communicate easily as well as enjoy the natural light.

Infrastructure Interior Design is a Vendor of Record for over seven years for Hydro One Networks Inc (HONI).
Infrastructure was retained directly by HONI to collaborate with HONI and AECOM in the development of the office portion of this new design and build building in Bolton, ON. We developed a design concept that adhered to specifications outlined by both HONI and AECOM. The concept is to be standardized on all future Operations Centres. Infrastructure was also responsible for the evaluation of existing, refurbished and new systems furniture to determine the most cost effective solution.
Infrastructure developed a program, space plans, design finishes concept, furniture evaluation, complete set of construction drawings and specifications as well as visual presentation material.
